The challenges faced by disabled people are often not confined to the impacts of their difficulties on their study or work activities. In many cases, disabled people are failed by the very systems designed to identify, administer, and deliver the support they need.

Most aspects of human experience exist somewhere within a spectrum between extremes. Life tends to be shades of grey rather than black and white. Yet despite this, society often relies on rigid labels and classifications to organise people, determine eligibility, and structure support systems.

As support systems continue to evolve, a new question is emerging. If assessments have already moved from paper forms to face-to-face interviews, and from face-to-face meetings to remote video consultations, what comes next?
